this film has literally every moderately offensive trope of lesbian cinema but at least they get a happy ending i guess

this should be my kind of trash but it doesn't quite hit the mark. needed like 40% more plot. natalia dyer is v convincing tho.

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous

this just lacks the charm of the first film. sandra bullock's character has a total personality transplant and gains some truly vile outfits (rhubarb and custard showgirl look excepted). horny gay man and angry black woman sidekicks date it horribly. baby nick offerman as a baddie is a fun spot.

this is very beautiful and i like that it's not a love story but it's not my favourite of the newer disney stories. i don't love the human character design.

sometimes i struggle to follow films like this with complex "real life" stories and lots of moving parts. this film was so well-paced and structured that that was not the case at all. normally voice-over narration is cringey but it works really well here. stellar cast. jessica is a regulation hottie.

a truly bizarre experience that you probably had to grow up with to appreciate. it does feel like a newspaper comic strip come to life though, which is obviously what they were going for. not a single female character has any kind of personality beyond dubious sex appeal. character style is fun and some parts of the animation (especially water) is surprisingly beautiful. music is good and horse the cat is a legend.

i really love this film. it is irreverent but heartfelt and poignant and the soundtrack is great. the main child actor has incredible comic timing. it's perfect and gentle but a dog does die.
