    Memories of Matsuko

"Memories of Matsuko" A theatrical musical. A realistic fairytale. A extravagant, 2 hour and 10 minute music video with an engaging plot.

LOVE the story, don't love the execution. Apart from the shaky camera and harsh editing it's just such an overdose of colour, music and style, so exhilarating and iconic on one hand, but just so overwhealming and strength-draining on the other. I see why this might work great for others, just didn't hit the right spot for me. Couldn't help but think I would have enjoyed it more if it was a 60 minute long anime.

    Fuck. I am in love!!!

Stanley. What a visionary! What an intelligent vision of the future! What a trip! What a strive for perfection! This exquisite harmony and balance between music, silence and dialogue. What an excellence in camera work! What a marvellously detailed spacecraft design and striking colour matching effects! I'm SO blown away, I can easily forgive some minor, barely noticable imperfections regarding costume design. This movie tells so much without even using words.
