    Really gained more appreciation and respect for this on second watch. Mitchell made a successful indie horror with It Follows and proceeds to use that leverage to make an ambitious, self-reflexive critique I'm almost certain he had to have known would be easy to ridicule and hard to appreciate.     Has some unfortunate lib tendencies (grave music buildup towards storming of the capital type stuff) but I think the general approach toward the main characters of this universe was very well done. Hoback knows that the idiosyncratic, off-putting Watkins duo was where to focus and it pays off. It touches upon issues of free speech in a fairly balanced way, but I can’t help feeling it ultimately does a slight disservice to the questions it raises (re: banning Qanon groups/Trump/etc…
