Mallicks extrapolation of the injured soul, tempered by stream of consciousness style camera work and editing. What can I say? It's a gorgeous movie, and maybe the discordant structure, editing, and focus might not appeal to everyone, there's no doubt in my mind, from my experience that this serves a deliberate and effective purpose. Though not the peak of its genre, I'm glad this exists for all it's weird meandering pseudo mystery segments. Mystical kung Fu depictions in a timeless time in China always tickle my fancy, and the different styles and their showcasing are a real strength of the movie. Does slow down on the initial momentum I think to basically remove a super op character and explore fragile alliances. This slows the momentum unfortunately and while not terrible, kind of feels like they should have just filmed more venom stuff

This is a goopy movie, be forewarned. Think I read some people felt this goes off…

Worthy entry in the impotent dad rage with secret dangerous past genre. Great to see Michael Ironside. You completely know what you are getting with this and that's alright, the action may not exceed something like John Wick, but quite a bit of it is commendable. Glad RZA doesn't just exist in speakers in this, Bobby digital appears in the flesh. Sort of just get a generic villain, might have been nice to get more there. Idk if this movie…
