"Can you guess what a woman's worse nightmare is?"

I have been trying for days to find the right words to describe how I felt about this movie. It makes me feel dirty, scared, haunted, exhilarated, angry, confounded, flabbergasted, amazed, impressed, tickled pink, and horrified.

Emerald Fennell has crafted a rape- revenge film that is finely layered, complex, and asks all the hard questions.
How do you get through a traumatic event?
If revenge is wrong, why isn't injustice?
And why are guys so goddamn rapey?

Carey Mulligan delivers her strongest performance yet as a woman dealing with the ramifications of tragedy who's unwilling to compromise. Bo Burnham is a welcome surprise as he brings the lightheartedness this film needs.
Few films have stayed with me for days after watching them this year as this one has and it deserves all the praise and then some.
