Gone Girl

Gone Girl ★★★★½

Arguably David Fincher's best movie in years, Gone Girl is a whirlwind trip through the interpersonal give and take of marriage and the many deceptions couples will carry on with one another. Trent Reznor's haunting score stands out strongly alongside many of the performances in the film, setting a dark and unsettling mood. The arc across the film slowly reveals that characters who initially seemed like awful people by comparison seem fairly tame when you see the depths some will sink to in order to correct things they've done. Thisfilm is incredibly haunting and has stuck with me quite strongly, here's to hoping Fincher can continue in this vein.
