Old Man Angelo’s review published on Letterboxd:
Beyond any shadow of a doubt the greatest adventure movie ever made. This thing fucking flies past. If it where 10 hours long it would still feel shorter than most movies, and certainly still not long enough. No matter how many times little me dreamt of fighting criminals dressed as a bat, or swinging a lightsabre on a distant world, there's nothing that's been able to capture my imagination with so much vividness as an Indiana Jones movie.
Every note this movie hits is so damned pitch perfect. It's visually stunning, like if David Lean directed the old serials this so perfectly homages. The gorgeous landscapes, the amazing hidden temples and fascinating nooks and crannies of the world. It's entirely pure bold, unending creativity, thrilling and iconic action sequences.
As with every pulp fiction adventure tale there's a fun cast of oddball characters, but lets face it, this is absolutely Ford's show. He's so awesome as Indy, he captures the square jawed to fisted adventurer perfectly and adds just the right amount of humour to add more personality and charm to the proceedings.
This is an unquestionably perfect, absolutely timeless film.
