A wise old crone recommended this to me relentlessly and I feared they’d hex me or turn me into an ox or some shit so I finally gave it a watch. So much to love. You got super clever visual comedy, the funky freshest edit I’ve seen in moons, shots so good you don’t even notice what they’re doing and just so much raw god damn talent. My feet feel absolutely useless now. Only thing is you can definitely feel like you’re getting a bit of emotional whiplash the way the beginning and end differ tonally, but it’s by no means a fault of the movie. The whiplash is in every way a film technique. I love musicals and I loved this. This will probably be the only war film I will forever like. I salute to you, old crone.
