Nikolas Kalar’s review published on Letterboxd:
This "Ghost Story for Christmas" has everything (an M.R. James fan could want): a skeptical Reverend, scholarly intrigue, spooky churches, greed for hidden treasure, monks, long scenes in libraries.
Very similar to "A Warning to the Curious," but with a more insular environment, "The Treasure of Abbot Thomas" didn't speak to me quite as strongly as the former, but is still a lot of fun and has some spooky moments.
Climbing to the top of the abbey, the flooded tunnel, the face in the puddle's reflection, and the disorientating editing of the ambiguous ending make this a spooky and interesting episode indeed.
