    The Hunt

Very unsure what to make of this movie because I genuinely don’t know exactly what it’s trying to say. There’s a point where one of the “elites” feels bad about killing one of the “deplorables” because she sees he has a wedding ring. Her husband brushes that off by saying “he probably says the n-word. Not even in private, probably on Twitter.” So, I thought the general message was just gonna be against the idea of dehumanizing people, even if…

Lol 2017 gave us a painfully average, barely interesting CBM and people couldn’t stop singing its praises at the time of release because DC’s other outputs the four years prior were absolute nightmares.

A cute little charming movie. Nothing too special but it’s cool that this exists.

Just terribly more uninteresting than the first two. Kinda sad to see. Almost felt like they were forcing one more out of this franchise that didn’t need to happen.

Yeah, this is just phenomenal. Tense and gripping, Ledger is fantastic, and it never feels slow or plummets. This is just as good as everyone says it is. I don’t consider it an untouchable masterpiece just because it’s grounded and serious, but as I said above, it’s phenomenal.

2nd movie I watched on the plane. Pretty fine.

  • Rocketman

So, story time: I was supposed to fly home to NJ from Los Angeles yesterday. I got on the plane and found The Revenant and decided I want to watch that but then it said it was edited for content?!?! I was like “fuck that” so I decided to go with Rocketman instead. I watched about ten minutes and then they announced the engine wasn’t working and we all had to leave the plane?!?!  Got rebooked to this morning and…

Crazy how cinema peaked in 2004 when this dropped. It’s a true story that every filmmaker retired knowing they’d never top this.

Was trying to think about whether or not this is better than Spencer and then I realized, this is about Irish people, and Spencer is about English people. OF COURSE this is better than Spencer!

Damn, this kinda ruled. I appreciate a more grounded and gritty take for a superhero like Batman. It actually works and doesn’t feel miserable like other “gritty” versions of this character. Excited to rewatch TDK, which I’ve only seen once and have little memory of for the most part, and TDKR which I’ve never seen at all.
