Nobody is simply just a fun movie. It’s simple and nothing groundbreaking but it’s a blast. I hadn’t been to the theaters in over a year and I finally returned to see this movie. It was worth it. It was a fun theater experience. It was cool to see this on the big screen and it definitely leaves more of an impact because of that. Bob Odenkirk is really great. He’s a really charismatic lead. He just adds another level to the film. He has a great energy to him. He really works well as this awesome action hero. He’s definitely the main reason to see it. He really does do an excellent job and I would love to him do more roles like this or maybe even reprise this role for a possible sequel which would be cool if it happens. He was really well cast. He fits very well as someone who lives a normal and boring life yet can also beat up a lot of people. He’s truly what makes this movie work. Christopher Lloyd is also really fun. He isn’t in it for super long but it was to see him here. He’s really awesome in the scenes he’s in especially in the scene he’s in at the end which is so awesome. The villain is kind of weak. He’s pretty generic and doesn’t really have a personality other than being super evil and being someone that you don’t really want to mess with. He’s obviously just there for plot reasons. The movie of course needs a foe for the protagonist to fight and he was that foe. He’s kind of cool but pretty bland. And while I’m talking about some negatives, I will say the plot is a bit generic which everyone has been saying so I’ll keep it short. It’s not necessarily anything we haven’t seen before plot wise and that’s fine. It’s definitely not a film that is really focused on plot. It’s there to make the audience have fun and that’s what it does. It kind of feels like John Wick but that isn’t a bad thing. The action is so cool and fun. I love the energy to the action scenes. They are very well filmed and made the theater experience worth while. There are some really cool uses of gore as well. It also has some nice dark humor sprinkled throughout the film to give it some extra flair. It’s not really a movie with much of an emotional impact but it achieves exactly what it’s trying to. I do wish they did more world building and I would’ve loved to see more back story to Odenkirk’s character but hopefully they have a sequel so that these things can be expanded on. I also have to mention the editing and soundtrack which are both very cool. The direction is pretty good. The action sequences are the stand out in the direction department. It is a nice way to return to the theaters after a long while. Not a perfect movie but an insanely entertaining one. Overall Nobody is a film that I’d definitely recommend watching in a theater if you can.
