Embarrassing message, cringe delivery, incompetent storytelling, terrible film.

The world is so fucked and I consider Amy Poehler a political/ideological ally and she has made me laugh for the right reasons many times but when I see a shit movie like this I realize she's really bad at making people like me want to stay on her side and the world is gonna stay fucked.

This is a micro-tweak away from outright parody. Intelligent people saw this garbage thing and somehow declared it fit for release, ostensibly of their own volition. I don't get it.

Blu-ray has two (2) Oliver Stone commentary tracks (recorded for the 2003 dvd), so, yes, I spent 10 (ten) and a half (0.5) hours with this film the last couple (2ish) weeks.

The director's remarks are mostly harmless compliments about the cast and basic explanations for the time-hopping structure and for some allusions & influences and a warm memory of the premiere's audience laughing at Hopkins's silly wink as he predicts the effectiveness of "the Nixon charm" and so forth.

As a soldier, one of the first things at which I excelled, according to the infallible eye of my drill sergeants, was marching and marching movements. As a white guy and someone whose idea of nightmare is dancing in public, I’m a proud member of Rhythmless Nation, but I can twist & turn on command at perfect stiff right angles in combat boots with the best of them, apparently. This, uh, skill led me to be selected for local funeral detail…

    Fuck you, purists.
    This is better than Hitchcock.
