Hunter Morris’s review published on Letterboxd:
Well well well. It has been a little over three weeks since I’ve watched a movie and even longer since I logged one to Letterboxd. My life’s been busy: I’ve been traveling, and I think this is the longest I’ve gone without watching a movie in YEARS. And what better movie to make my return to than with Shiva Baby.
This is one of the most pristinely compact comedies I’ve seen in a long time. You feel the confines of not only the space, but the characters and the relationships. Director Emma Seligman and actress Rachel Sennott are breakthroughs here that I don’t think anyone is going to forget for a long time.
This awkward cringe-inducing comedy is exactly my brand, and it’s brought me back into the world of movies again in the best way possible. I’ve missed you all.
