Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage

Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage ★★★½

Weird Coachella commercial.

Interesting in that it, inadvertently, reveals as much about 2021 as it does 1999.

Horrific event, insane footage, unnecessarily myopic and heavy-handed direction, hilarious self-righteous, low-hanging-fruit-picking talking head narcissists, making for a perfect Exhibit A of the current state of cultural criticism — save for maybe Wesley Morris, who actually attempts to unravel some things and draw connections to the present, ethering Reddit in the process.

That being said, please bring back VH1 Behind The Music.
