Mitch Wiley’s review published on Letterboxd:
Rachel and I made it 75 minutes before walking out and getting a refund. The film was supposed to welcome back the glories of movie theaters, but it was perhaps the most disappointed I've ever been in the theatrical experience. The sound mixing was a disaster. The sound effects and soundtrack were elevated to an uncomfortably loud level, while the dialogue was muddled, confusing an already-complex plot. This was Nolan, so the lines were so heavily expositional. The film looked good and felt like it might be the most Nolan-y movie yet. JDW and Pattinson were awesome, but this needs to be remixed before I give it another shot. I'm anticipating lots of refunds and complaints this week.
