Being stuck in a pool of barbed wire while a knife-wielding killer is trying to get to you through a door is such an inherently terrifying concept for a sequence. And with Argento's masterful execution, it's hard not to watch that scene without at least getting a little uncomfortable. Every stylistic choice this movie makes rules so goddamn hard, from the moody coloured lights that permeate the set of numerous scenes to the gloriously brutal practical kills with gleefully unrealistic bright red blood. And Jessica Harper's excellent performance composed largely of that one uncomfortable face she does is the icing on top
