I thought that I had seen this before, but I think I must have put it on once and then paused it not very far into i and never returned.

This is a challenging movie for all the reasons all the other reviewers have discussed. I loved the old Hollywood artifice but had trouble at times with the more modern acting. This was especially true of DeNiro who felt really out of place at times. At other times his performance was really good.

Minnelli deserves every ounce of praise. She is phenomenal.
