This was basically fine. It's like Idiocracy with a tinge of Habermas. The politics are lib and therefore cringe and that's why so many of my dear friends on this review website will dislike it. Some of the jokes landed. I hope that more studios decide to make comedy movies in the year 2022.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The part where Shia LeBeouf say that the teens aren't selling magazines, they're selling themselves is him stating the Theme Of The Movie for the first time but if you miss that, don't worry because they'll keep reminding you about it again and again. What's cleverer is a point I’m not exactly certain the writers and director intended. It’s the much more important point that the movie is also selling the teens to you. Indeed, you’ll get your money’s worth…
I have a brain disease where I can watch movies about historical leftists and have fun even when the movie clearly holds them in contempt. It's not a good movie, but I had a fun time watching! It's a Sorkin movie so there's a lot of groaner lines, lib shit, and unpacked psychosexual issues with women, but that's okay, you already knew about all that. Don't watch this movie unless you're in some sort of brain crisis!
