    The Guilty is a tense thriller that takes place in pretty much one setting. I love when thrillers take a minimalist approach like this, and it works because Jake Gyllenhaal does an exceptional job portraying the broken, but caring main character.     What a damn good movie. I really loved this film, from start to finish. The story is very interesting, and it is so insane how political this trial was. Editing was brilliant, all the performances were spot on, and the pacing was fantastic. One issue I had is that it can get a little confusing, as the plot moves quickly and many characters and subplots are introduced. Overall it’s a great film.  I highly recommend watching this one.

    Also, Borat gives an excellent performance in this

    I honestly don’t know how Mank got more nominations than this.....  That doesn’t make any sense. 

    This movie is incredible. The story is great, and it kept me entertained throughout the entire runtime. The pacing is also excellent and so is the cinematography and score.  However. what makes this film really stand out are the performances.
