Matthew Noble’s review published on Letterboxd:
"It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage."
Raiders of the Lost Ark is not only the greatest adventure movie ever made, but one of the best films ever made, period.
Every element works here: the performances are memorable, the direction is inventive, the stunt work is incredible, and the story has a perfect balance of humour, romance, and spirituality. I haven't even mentioned Lawrence Kasdan's rollicking screenplay, or Douglas Slocombe's gorgeous-cum-gritty cinematography, or Ben Burtt's ingenious sound design, or John Williams' legendary score… I could go on.
Seriously, this movie is really, really good.
