Jacob Martin (formally known as The Movie King)’s review published on Letterboxd:
I feel like an eight-year-old kid every time I watch Kung Fu Panda, one of my all-time favorite DreamWorks films. Unlike a majority that tends to rely on pop-culture humor over storytelling, this one tones down the humor to brilliant slapstick and is able to mix in with a surprisingly dramatic angle at times. The animation is jaw-dropping, the action sequences blow my mind (yes even the slapstick-inducing climax), Jack Black's performance as Po was a perfect match, the music is epic, and while its villain is a little underwhelming, the plot point where he was raised by Shifu and treated like a son made for some heartfelt, tragic moments. As a whole, this is easily Top 3 DreamWorks, one that knows its storytelling and wows us with the payoff.
"The Furious Five! You're so much bigger than your action figures! Except you, Mantis. You're about the same."
