i was firmly in the 'remake suspiria???? when the original is RIGHT THERE?' camp for years and was also a bit put off by the "horror film for the #MeToo era!" branding that every film featuring more than one woman released in this period received but tbf i enjoyed this a lot and its exactly what a remake should be in terms of completely reimagining the original. was too long and sometimes it felt a bit like luca guadignino was winking at me and going "see? it's like Politics" but id otherwise have given it a 5 star purely for the way i shrieked when i found out the old psychologist bloke is also played by tilda swinton
