The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man ★★★½

So it's been a year since I watched this. Let me just say, and i cannot stress this enough, the POWER Moss has, my god.

The film is just as stylish, iconic and technically surprising as i remembered. Thematically? More of a letdown, unfortunately. It seems to lack a firm grip on the domestic violence discourse, only using when advantageous for the narrative but shying away from the real horrors. It also only offers a blurry portrayal of mental health issues and superficially approaches familial dynamics.

All in all, it's an honorable shot at refreshing an old tale and a pleasure to the eyes, but not much more.
