Mark Thiedeman’s review published on Letterboxd:
The representational “issue” of this film — some gay men are into weird stuff, news flash — is as compelling as it ever was. It’s a pop-cultural minefield that evidences the central problem of LGBT images in the mainstream: even queer people and our allies find queerness dangerous... worse, lethal. And indeed, it has been. As it turns out, sex and death were linked in the gay community even before the first diagnosed cases of HIV.
