What I admired the most in "Promising Young Woman" was the directing style and the acting from Carrey Mulligan. She does a really good job at shifting from apparently sweet to the scariest person in the room. Bo Burnham did what everyone supposed he would do, which is fine but ultimately unimpressive.
Regarding the plot, it condensed what I was thinking it would. Basically a reaction from a woman sick of what happens regularly and so she fights back in a twisted way of course, but still fights. The plot had some problems, with some of the stuff lacking that emotional rawness of cinema and some parts not quite achieving what they tried to convey (with some moments being downright lazy). Nonetheless, it was a fun and visually stimulating ride.
