Don’t watch immediately after leaving your two-time-cancer-surviving grandmother in Florida while in the middle of a global pandemic. You will cry.

My favorite part of Booksmart was feeling a sense of familiarity with these characters while I watched with my best friend from college sitting on our couch together eating dinner. She and I are two girls from different parts of the country, with different backgrounds who related so much to Amy and Molly. White dudes on IMDb HATED this movie so much because they “couldn’t relate.” Yet we’re all supposed to relate to Catcher in the Rye? Grow up boys. Start relating to women.

Frankly an underwhelming Tarantino film. While clearly made at the highest standards of film making, the story itself is stale.

Brad Pitt shines like the star he his, and DiCaprio fits perfectly into his role as an aging out Western actor.

Costuming and staging save the film from its long, drawn out plot.

Deserved every reward, beautifully shot, amazing performances, exciting story and absolutely bonkers.

I’m so lucky no one ruined the whole plot for me having watched it months after its success at the academy awards. I truly got to enjoy the surprises this gem has in store.
