The media shelf is up. The "spooky" sign is unpacked. The I.M. Meen costume is wishlisted. And now, it's time to ring in my favorite season of the year with my favorite seasonal tradition: Hooptober!

Last year, Cinemonster didn't require any films by female directors (no shade toward him, it was a packed set of criteria), and I ended up having an all-male directorial pool. One could argue this says more about the accessibility of the horror film industry than anything (this reasonably comprehensive list is soberingly short), but I still wanted to do better this year!
