Hell naw, to the naw, naw, naw (Hell to the naw)
Hell to the naw, to the naw, naw, naw
Perhaps the most exhausting film I’ve ever seen. Elem Klimov pulls no punches and sugar-coats absolutely nothing in this, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
The usual large scale bloodbath we see in most war films is traded for something a lot more personal and realistic - to see war through the eyes of a child. Aleksey Kravchenko gives possibly the best child performance ever, showing loss of innocence in an extremely effective and intense way.
