Hall of Fame #4 - International Cinema
Film 7 - Cinema Paradiso
A special, special film. It highlights not only the love for cinema, but the necessity of growing up and losing pieces of you as the years age and you along with them.
We are introduced to a young boy who is fascinated by cinema, and in turn befriends the projectionist who provides him with the glorious images he salivates at every time he’s transported into a fictional world. What blossoms is an important and unusual friendship that ignites our protagonist’s love for film to spiritual heights.
This is a story about passion, friendship, life, the loss of innocence and sadness. It does a masterful job at linking our protagonist back to his childhood and in many ways, it’s very relatable.
