Lucas’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s very rare for a film franchise to finally find its thematic thrust in its fifth entry. Sure, there were hints of it in the first few, but it’s solidified in this one. And it accomplishes this while also being one of the most visceral action blockbusters of the decade with one of the most bonkers climaxes ever, and perfectly straddling the line between sincerity and absurdity, not to mention beating The Avengers by a year to the big team up movie plot. In other words, this movie is some serious fucking cowboy shit.
