The Irishman

The Irishman ★★★★½

justified in its length, this tender and expansive tale of loyalty, brotherhood, fatherhood, family and responsibility hits home pretty hard without for a second falling into sentimental pitfalls and cliches. scorsese has been perfecting the mob genre for a long time now and it really feels like this is closing the casket on the gangster saga he has crafted. this movie is a real fucking treat for fans of the meditative and heart tugging elements of crime dramas, especially because of the cast; de niro, pesci and pacino hopefully should all get nominations where applicable
