23 year old video artist & zolo trash enthusiast ❤
still thinking about how, on the last day of a Super 8 Video Art class i was taking at college, we had some unexpected extra time and my 73 year old professor goes “hmm, i have one other thing we could watch i guess” and proceeds to put THIS on at full volume and then immediately dismissed us after with a brisk “have a great summer!”
a quiet but wonderful short documentary about a 4 year old pot-smoking, shoeless, cop-hating hippie living in late 1960's Haight-Ashbury. I especially love the way Arlyck converses with Sean, never talking down to him at all, making it all the more personal between them, you can see that it's genuine. It's a rare capture of a revolutionary place and time, and becomes all the more interesting through the eyes of a small child. But I do wish that they had shown more footage of Sean walking the streets of Haight-Ashbury and conversing with the residents, who deals him that pot anyway?
