    Zack Snyder's Justice League

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Wow this was better than I expected... but as you can see from my rating still not exactly what I wanted. I have two major storytelling loves that take over most of my media consumption free-time. Star Wars and DC Comics. Having put hundreds upon hundreds of hours into learning, studying, and observing the Justice League in comic form I can tell you that no matter how much more coherent this film is than that last Frankensteined dumpster-fire... this is…

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

The political thriller feel - It’s unique amongst the Star Wars films
Obi-Wan’s hair - Not many people can pull off the Jesus haircut, but Ewan McGregor nails it.
Obi-Wan hates politicians - Obi-Wan’s political views are sensibly skeptical. “And dont forget she’s a politician, and they are not to be trusted.”
The bar scene/death sticks - The bar scene is genuinely tense and very well executed. The death sticks dialogue…

    Mortal Kombat

I felt very similar about this film as I did Sonic the Hedgehog. I really enjoyed the lines, shots, and other direct references to the game (no matter how absurdly overt), but the film really isn’t that strong. I really had fun with what the film was and what it was trying to do, but it’s hard to ignore the obvious mediocrity of the plot. Still by the end (again like Sonic) I was left with enough of a smile…

    Batman: Hush

A decent adaptation of a story that really works much better in a longer format.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

First of all, let me start this review by saying that I completely understand certain critiques of The Rise of Skywalker. The opening twenty minutes of the film are extremely jumpy, and the crawl doesn't quite provide sufficient enough information to set up the scale of this story.

With that being said, let me start gushing over the reasons I thoroughly love watching this movie (Spoilers Ahead). From the opening sequence of The Rise of Skywalker, JJ Abrams lets the…

  • Cinema Paradiso

    Cinema Paradiso

I wanted my 1800th film on this site to be something special. After some discussion with a friend, he suggested I watch a film about the love of cinema. Upon his suggestion of Cinema Paradiso, I knew immediately it would be the perfect film to watch.

Cinema Paradiso has been at the front of my backlog for about five years now. Despite my love of Italian cinema, I still kept putting off watching Cinema Paradiso. Maybe all of that procrastinating…
