An inspiring tale of fighting against injustice and the power of young people in inciting real change; it’s reminiscent of the young people that organised the Black Lives Matter protests in my home city of Manchester in 2020. Evocative and moving, this documentary sheds light on Hong Kong’s political state whilst making it digestible enough for those less clued up on the issue (myself - although less so after watching the film). Power to the people.

FREE JOSHUA WONG, AGNES CHOW AND IVAN LAM.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

My first taste of the Wachowski Sisters’ work and I loved it!

Beautifully shot - I would go as far to say a masterclass in clever editing and match cutting. It maintains the momentum of the film and adds to the intensity of the story by keeping you on your toes.

Given the context of when this film was made, I like to think the Wachowski’s found an escape/release in making a film centred around queer women escaping a heteronormative…

A truly bizarre and captivating narrative with this documentary acting as closure to decades of pain and anguish at the hands of a narcissist. The film’s seemingly raw, unfiltered interviews are intriguing, with the subjects unafraid to get uncomfortable and express their true feelings. The original footage is mesmerising, though left me longing for an actual release of the film - I like to think this is intentional and is a true testament to the talent behind it.

One time in work a customer knocked a card machine off the till and I shouted “DOWN WITH CAPITALISM” and she didn’t laugh - she clearly has not see this masterpiece of a film.

Also, I believe in Isla Fisher supremacy. Long live the Queen of Finland.
