Laurie Holden’s review published on Letterboxd:
an elegantly creepy anti-thriller from chabrol, with huppert once again cast as an ice queen. even when she looks for a breakdown, chabrol never obliges, so sound is his conception and execution. simplicity is the film's greatest virtue, which at times also plays like a comedy. sadly neither young directors nor today's audience seems to have much patience for films like this.
