  • Wizards

Wizards was intended to be Ralph Bakshi's first foray into more family-friendly films. I say intended, because it's difficult to view it as such. Starting with Fritz the Cat his movies have always been transgressive, rebelling against the notion that animation is solely the domain of children's entertainment. While Wizards is perhaps more appropriate for younger viewers than his previous films, mostly due to a lack of strong sexual themes, it's still no Disney movie by any means.

    The Wizard of Oz

After having watched this movie for the 51435th time I finally decided to write a review.

The Wizard of Oz is the definition of a timeless classic. We're 81 years later and it's still a pop culture staple, what other movie can claim that? Mad Max with bicycles!

Turbo Kid is a 80s throwback movie that doesn't rely on 'remember the 80s?' to succeed. The overall presentation and action are a lot of fun, but it wouldn't have worked without the heartfelt relationship between the main characters as its emotional core.

The Boss Baby: Get That Baby!

There's something deeply symbolic about this movie/game being about making the right choices, because you'd have to make some seriously bad choices in your life to end up in a position where you're watching the Boss Baby interactive special.

    Avengers: Endgame

I should preface this by saying I had never seen an MCU movie prior to this. I did this as a sort of experiment to see what going into the epic conclusion of a decade long saga is like, so don't take anything I say here seriously.

This movie was a lot more silly than I expected it to be, both intentionally and unintentionally. Not having the context of the previous movies it's very strange to see the more grounded…
