KJ Schultz’s review published on Letterboxd:
Powerful, incredibly directed, and shockingly relevant, Blackkklansman can be described by a slew of adjectives from the dictionary. Spike Lee out does himself and tells one wild ass story. John David Washington is fantastic as the lead, bringing humor to his character, even in the most racial and tense moments. The last 40 minutes leading up to the KKK induction and car bombing was so tense. Really the only thing I can nitpick is the runtime seemed a bit long. The ending with the live footage is raw as hell. Spike doesn’t hold back any punches. I hope the academy recognizes how great this picture is. I think Adam Driver deserves a nomination for best supporting. This will definitely be in my top 20 this year. Highly recommend!
