Wrath of Man

Wrath of Man ★★★½

The irony of Wrath of Man is that it’s the least Guy Ritchie movie that Guy Ritchie has made in years, and yet it’s probably his best movie in years. Do I have an answer for why that’s the case? Not really, I don’t make the rules. I just know that Amber and I really enjoyed watching actors who are great at playing grizzled hardcases do their thing. It helps that the dialogue was insane in the first half, getting me invested in the vibe which the movie was giving off, and the whole movie had a nice, professional look to it, while never losing my interest. Give me a night to think it over and I may have more concrete reasons as to why it worked for me.

Overall, though, this is a fun movie – which is something I can’t say for a lot of what I’ve watched this year!
