The one thing that I cannot stand with a movie is when a filmmaker has a cool idea and just doesn't run with it (*cough cough The Tomorrow War). Luckily with Shyamalan I know he's always going to give it his all and try everything (to varying degrees of success, granted).

I'd seen the majority of this movie, in little installments over a bunch of cover classes in high school, but this was my first time properly watching this classic.

Just like in this fictional world created for Truman, it's the details of this movie that make or break it. The premise is of course super interesting but it's how well Weir executed that premise that shines throughout.
