    The Mitchells vs. The Machines

    ★★★★

This is definitely a potential Oscar contender for next year’s Best Animated Film category. This is one of the funniest and most clever animated films I have seen in recent memory. Phil Lord and Chris Milller’s sharp wit and clever gags are incredibly present here. The satire is biting, the dialogue is incredibly well written. The animation is unique and groundbreaking. If you loved their previous animated comedies “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and “The Lego Movie”, this is…

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

    ★★

The only reason this is not 1 star is because there is at least some good in this show. The buddy cop banter between Bucky and Sam is great, the action is well done....but the story is weak. Every episode has to have a “check your privilege” lecture at least once. The show basically says that BLM/Antifa are the good guys. Sam’s “speech” in the last episode was awful as he basically plays victim. Dude, you are on a team…

Plot of this: Bug themed hero who lives in Paris goes to NYC.

All comparisons aside, I liked...most of this movie. The concept that there are other Miraculous out there raises some exciting implications for the future of the series. The characters for NYC they came up with were just silly. Two of them are just Batman and Robin, one is Captain America who…

    Jumanji: The Next Level

    ★★

In 2017, Sony struck gold with their surprise hit sequel to Jumanji entitled "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle." This was after months of people complaining about it "ruining their childhoods" and 'disrespecting Robin Williams' legacy." I was one of the only defenders of the trailer. Joke was on the complainers though, as it was a huge critical and financial success. (heck, it beat out "The Last Jedi" for goodness sakes). So, naturally, Sony, seeing how that gamble paid off, stopped…
