Way too objet d'art for my tastes. Some scenes work individually but not as a whole. The brilliant cinematography, is easy to admire from afar. The main issue is that there really just isn’t any entry point in actually engaging with it. Like, sure, the overbearing score and melodramatic acting blowout whatever kind of tone this thing is going for. It ultimately falls in service to something reaching for profundity but never realizing why. The engine or heart is missing.
