Each Freddy film manages to be worse and better than the previous entry. We at least get more Freddy in this one and the effects are grade-A(thanks screaming mad george). Too bad we are settled with the least charismatic lead and a near incoherent/lazy ass script. The series clear shift toward a more comedic tone feels like a sign of the times, much like Jason Lives. It isn’t self-parody at this point but you just sort of wished they’d attempt to make the films scary. Definitely feels like the most 80’s of the Nightmare films.
