Nippon Connection #4
Totally underwhelming. Sounds like a japanese Project X at first, what it might wanted to be, but turned out pretty lame. Already in the first half something just didn't seem "right". The whole pacing was boring, the beginning felt like they worked without using sound and all the humor comes through randomness like someone opens a Café in the house.
Well, no haha.
The supernatural elements were a part I wasn't prepared for at all. Children turn into branches, cats speak and something with ghosts. I see how bad it wanted to be a crazy escalation, but the script doesn't know how to handle cause and effect or something like timing. The stories were a poor execution, rarely funny and in the end that crazy japaneseness was unfortunately an obsolete and only basis everything was build on.
