What this movie lacks in entertainment it makes up for with dreadfully poor storytelling. Unfortunately, Nicolas Cage isn’t given enough to resurrect any level of enjoyment from this slowly paced dreck.
Boredom sets in quickly and the movie sparingly supplements the audience with amusement. It is seemingly unaware of how redundant or irrelevant the information it presents is, each scene/story is extended for much longer than it needs to. The failure of the movie is that it alludes to and sets up the stories as if there will be a worthy payoff and it is rarely ever able to deliver on that. The few good moments were unable to redeem shortcomings…
