    Man picked the wrong day to wear flip-flops. A phenomenal film on multiple fronts. The world building is exceptional, a gritty, terrifying future achieved in a way that is immersive and scarily realistic. Along with the seamless exposition usage and the crucial intertwining of its underlining societal themes, the apocalyptic earth grasps for breath in dimensions.     I liked the part where everyone thought a boat was a shark. This acquired most of the same problems I had with “Jour de Fête”, but got less enjoyment out of. Clunky editing, lots of pointless establishing shots that could easily be cut, and is surprisingly dull outside of its share of highlights. The fireworks scene was fun and creative, it almost made me want to boost my rating. Bad pacing, I just wished I was more into the style…

    Wow this movie didn’t need to be this good. A sequel to one of the worst DCEU movies, this happens to take the opposite approach…that is, being fun, having a lighter tone, taking itself less seriously, ditching Jared Leto and having writing that isn’t horrendous. I could nitpick the logic and inconsistencies if I really wanted to, but it’s so joyous and entertaining which makes these minor criticisms less bothersome, meaningful or distracting.
