I've never really been a fan of Blaxploitation films such as Shaft but this one oddly worked for me. Sure it had the excessive fake blood and largely bad acting that you come to expect from the genre. Louis Gosset was a pleasant surprise though.

I enjoyed the possession by hypnosis plot and it was well-written and engaging. Definitely a highlight of the genre.

So I have to say I didn’t hate this one. I had constantly read reviews that this is the worst of the franchise, etc. Certainly the characters are largely forgettable but I actually really enjoyed Chucky here. He’s funny and his manipulation of Tyler was actually quite interesting.

The finale in the haunted house was also quite memorable.

I'm a huge horror fan and love the 80s slashers of Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street but never LOVED Child's Play. I liked the original fine I guess but I never really took the time to watch any of the sequels.

However, when this challenge required films from 1991, it was a pretty poor selection so I ended up with Child's Play 3 on my list. Therefore, I had to watch this one first.

    While I don't…

    The Scooby-Doo Project

How had I never seen this before? Scooby-Doo was always one my favorites as a kid. This is a fun parody of The Blair Witch Project that really works and makes the story accessible for kids.
