There was a moment halfway through this I found myself going. ‘Please, Terry don’t tear this down. Need these people to be OK’ ...From the beginning with BRAZIL, I’ve been like this.

In my head it’s a Saturday afternoon, Summer of 1988’..

Kevin McCarthy’s performance is up there with Ted Knight in Caddyshack or Leslie Nielsen in Airplane where it’s basically a parody of their own character career. Just having a blast with it.
Put it on a second time with the Joe Dante commentary. Always gives good audio commentary. The supermarket waking dream scene. Just behind the coupon lady in the cue is Ron Howard’s dad Lance Howard and then Chucks Jones who created Bugs Bunny... ᴹᵉᶰᵗᵃᶫ

  • Starship Troopers

*Federation Propaganda lettering flashes across the screen* Phil Tippett, Basil Poledouris, Jost Vacano, Jon Davison, Edward Neumeier and Paul Verhoeven.

Finest bit of fascist allergory that ever slipped out of Hollywood. Released in the shadow of a 4th Alien sequel. I went to the cinema to see them Robocop boys do it again. Still one of the greatest cinema experiences I’ve ever had.
