Thought it be a laugh to watch. Hardly.. Hideous film concept via a tabloid headline. Your Terrorists are essentially hard left party union politics, with shooters. It’s a Thatcher wet dream. Roy Budd soundtrack is tight and gets a Star.

  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

    ★½

How to ruin a weekend. This was the extended cut. This is even more preposterous in 2021. Me checking the running time of film after they kill the daddy. How can there be 20mins left???

First time this Zack guy had his running time. I don’t think I’ll make it to the 4 hour follow up to this..

  • Star Raiders: The Adventures of Saber Raine
  • Mortal Engines

    Mortal Engines

    ★½

Big lumbering city roll around and crash into each other. Somebody made steam punk in 2018. Guess if you live in Peter Jackson’s bubble, than nobody is gonna stop and check you on the way to the kitchen. He’s turned into George Lucas circa 1996 didn’t he? You have a dream factory. You can make anything you want. What strange full circle.
It doesn’t matter that there wasn’t a pair of welding goggle and a topper high hat seemed to be banned from the set...

...and they merc’d off Shrike the only character development with motivation the film ever had.

  • Kick-Ass 2

    Kick-Ass 2

Nothing like ruining yer buzz for the first one in under 24hrs. Tonally from the start this was wrong. Then they killed a character in the final act and wanted to turn it off. Because you can’t be funny and cute after that.

  • Fantastic Four

    Fantastic Four

Fantastic Flatbread. How is this so dull when it looks quite astonishing in places. Try to imagine what the Cronenberg / body horror elements would of looked like.

  • The Midnight Sky

    The Midnight Sky

    ★½

I watch films to the end. The very end Netflix was too busy trying to load up something else during the credits. Cheap motherfuckers. It lost a star for that stunt.

Also the low light is still terrible on this service. I’ve seen DVDs with better pictures quality in darkness. The sinking Norwegian outpost was lost to me.

  • Mission to Mars

    Mission to Mars

    ★½

Why does Gary Sinise look so run down in this. Does he know it's a stinker. Terrible, terrible dialogue. Great, great soundtrack on a below arrive film. Its like an extension of The Thing soundtrack in that 2nd act ship failure/abandon sequence.

  • Bad Samaritan

    Bad Samaritan

    ★½

The trailer made it look like good schlock. What we got was a flat TV movie schlock, specially in the last act. FBI seemed to be written in and tacked on at the last minute to give it a Thomas Harris feel.

  • It Chapter Two

    It Chapter Two

    ★½

They had something.. somebody shIT the bed..

  • Highlander II: The Quickening

    Highlander II: The Quickening

    ★½

This was the directors cut. Loved the opera opening sequence (pararrel to Madison Square Gardens opening in the 1st) with the Dune bits.

Metropolis/Grunge Distopia. This is the missing link between Blade Runner and The Crow.

THE EDITING... Them winged villain jump cuts, fuckin. MY EYES... The consistency in story and editing that leads up to the final. Specially the ‘chase’.. How did that happen? ‘Is that it?’

There was still a ozone layer sized hole in this film.

  • Starship Troopers 3: Marauder

    Starship Troopers 3: Marauder

    ★½

OH MY, THAT SONG ....they really needed Tippett this time... just on effects that is. When this gets to the desert island part of the film it starts to feel competent and framed. Then it shits the bed with heavy religious symbolism which feels like a rewrite.

Cinema 4D work in this attraction is practically a Panasonic 3DO CD-Rom Demo. I was waiting for the final supreme bug just to be that pipes windows 98 screensaver.
