    The movie that influenced the movie that influenced Drive is a gorgeous, sparse procedural where we follow an assassin (Alan Deloin) going about his job as his employer tries to take him out, too. It's obviously influential and there's a lot to admire, but the coolness of the operation also adds a distance from emotionally investing too much in any character or storyline.

    This is a hard movie to rate. It's not well made, but it almost succeeds in spite of itself due to the fact that it's about rich kids, made by a rich kid: Jamie Johnson, heir to the Johnson & Johnson fortune. This gives him access to his rich friends that most documentarians would kill for.
