john lichman’s review published on Letterboxd:
The weakest and most corporate in the franchise designed to sell IMAX tickets in a period where that’s almost not possible. I’m incredibly fascinated by the weird, nearly haphazard plot where returning characters (played by Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler) are given the most random of plot points; Brown is a Monster conspiracy theorist while her father…runs Monster FEMA?
Their entire roles feel like contract after thoughts as everyone else marks their checklist here for corporate approval. That said I’m definitely purchasing the new [spoiler but not really character] toy.
